Five Minute Friday – Messenger

1:  one who bears a message or does an errand: as a a:  archaic :  forerunnerherald  b:  a dispatch bearer in government or military service   c :  an employee who carries messages 2:  a light line used in hauling a heavier line (as between ships) 3:  a substance (as a hormone) that mediates a biological effect

What do you think of when you hear the word Messenger?  Do you think of the historical work, Crier (*the person who cried out the news in the town center) or a person that delivers news from person to person, place to place, or even a bag, the type of bag that is carried over your shoulder, that you can fit paperwork and contracts in, then the messenger can deliver them.

So many things!   To me, these things come to mind at first, however, when I start getting deep, I can honestly say that it goes to one of the greatest Messenger(s) every… That delivered the greatest Message of all.

All right then, the Lord himself will choose the sign. Look! The virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son and will call him Immanuel — ‘God is with us  Isaiah 7:14 NLT

Gabriel and the birth of Jesus!  What would have happened, had that not been fulfilled.  where would we be?  Where W O U L D    WE BE WITHOUT JESUS?

who even wants to think about that?  I am so grateful for that very special messenger that delivered that perfect message so many years ago!!!

Isn’t it fantastic that we have the promise of Jesus to live in our hearts and then it changes our “message”

We get to be a Messenger from God about the wonderful, eternal gift of life!  Christ Jesus!

Does it get any better than that

So while you may not have delivered that very special message way back when, you get to be the messenger in your every day life to deliver the perfect message, about the perfect Birth of Jesus Christ, that came from that Messenger so many years ago.

Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” – Mark 16:15

Five Minute Friday

Five Minute Friday

this is from Lisa-Jo Baker’s Blog that explains FMF)
So, here’s the skinny: every Friday for going on four years now hundreds of people have joined a kind of writing flash mob over here.
We write for five minutes flat. All on the same prompt that I post here at 1 minute past midnight EST ever Friday. And we connect on Twitter with the #FMFParty (It stands for Five Minute Friday Party).
No extreme editing; no worrying about perfect grammar, font, or punctuation.
Unscripted. Unedited. Real.
It started because I’d been thinking about writing and how often our perfectionism gets in the way of our words. And I figured, why not take 5 minutes and see what comes out: not a perfect post, not a profound post, just five minutes of focused writing.
So now on Fridays a group of people who love to throw caution to the wind and just write without worrying if it’s just right gather to share what five minutes buys them. Just five minutes.
Your words. This shared feast. It’s easy to join in, just:
Check what the prompt is on my Lisa Jo Baker’s Blog.
Write a post in only five minutes on that topic on your blog.
{And if you don’t have a blog, no worries! Just leave your writing as a comment on my post} Link over to Lisa’s blog and invite friends to join in. Select the permalink to your post {so not your blog url but your post url } Using the blue linky tool at the bottom of Lisa’ Five Minute Friday post enter your link. It will also walk you through selecting which photo you want to show up in the linky. Your post will show up in our Five Minute Friday linky. Be sure and encourage the person who linked up before you!
Our most important requirement for participation: There’s really only one absolute, no ifs, ands or buts about it
Five Minute Friday rule: you must visit the person who linked up before you & encourage them in their comments. Seriously. That is, like, the rule. And the fun. And the heart of this community
