The Giveaway is over, sorry for the incovenience. Congratulations Heidi B
When I picked my #OneWord365 for this year, I chose #Intentional. #Intentional about everything was what I wanted, whether it be relationships with my family and friends, my church life, my God life, an my prayer life. I KNEW I needed to be #intentional about so many things in my life, however, the one thing that coming back to me, was that I needed to share everything with God, even though He already knew, I needed to TALK to Him! I meant everything also. I needed that one on one time to bring myself to a point where my prayer life was stronger than it had ever been and that I could “have a conversation” with God” about everything.
Then comes the movie, “The War Room” What a wake up call for me. I had the pleasure of going to a pre-screening premier last week. Family Christian had provided me with this opportunity in exchange for my honest review. So here we go!!!
Tony and Elizabeth Jordan seemingly have it all-great jobs, a beautiful daughter, their dream home. But appearances can be deceiving. In reality, their marriage has become a war zone and their daughter is collateral damage. But with the help of Miss Clara, an older, wiser woman, Elizabeth discovers she can start fighting for her family instead of against them. With her newly energized faith, Elizabeth’s real enemy doesn’t have a prayer.
When you fight for something with God on your side? How on earth can you lose In this movie, there are prayers for each other, their marriage, their daughter, their troubled lives, but also, themselves.
God has a plan with us, however, we have to talk to Him. He loves to listen to us! He tells us in Matthew 6:6 “But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you” Miss Cara opens her home to Liz, one hour a week, they together in a way that is so intimate and very scared Clara is teaching Liz how to fight for her marriage, her home and her family. During the movie Clara, gives Liz, battle plans for her prayer life. Teachs her the right way to fight, instead of fighting her husband, fighting the enemy.
Elizabeth prays, and gains strength in her own life, through her prayer life, Clara explains to her that her prayers are her fight and her way to give back is to give those instructions and battle plans and teach someone else. To mentor someone else in their battle plan and teach them how to pray also
Then comes the War Room. Do you have that inner room, that closet that you can go to and pray in secret. Do you have a War Room. Where you do battle against the Enemy; As you pray, you MUST make the enemy aware that He cannot kill your joy, he cannot steal your faith and he cannot destroy your home. Scream it out and pray these things over your home. Pray these things over your family. Pray these things over your marriage.Make sure that the enemy knows that you and God teamed up and God is in control of your home.
As you do this, and as you become more and more mature in your prayer life, You let God just take over! As you talk to Him, your faith comes in so much strength there is no way that anyone can come between
You and the Lord,
Your family and the Lord,
Your Joy and the Lord
Your LIFE and the Lord.
When you are complacent in your life and you choose to shut God out by not praying, He isn’t going to send things to harm you, however, He may get your attention by shaking things up a bit. He only comes when asked. Our God is a jealous God *Exodus 34:14 and He wants us to talk to Him, He wants us to open up to Him. He wants us to be in one accord with Him. But we have to be the ones to come to Him.
When this movie comes out in August, please make arrangements to go see it. There are so many resources that will be available once the movie opens, at http://warroomthemovie.com/ August 28th at cinemas near you!! I will definitely be seeing it again! I want to thank Family Christian Stores for the opportunity to be allowed to see it. As resources become available, you will be able to find them on the Family Christian website and on the movie’s website http://warroommovieresources.com/ Or you can link up with the movie on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/warroomthemovie (just an FYI, nothing is available now, but will be up soon and ready for the August 28th Premier)
The majority of this movie, is clean and safe for any age, however, there are some innuendos about having an affair. There are some pretty heated words, and talking about the opposite sex as an object not a human.
Also when we sat down for the premier there was a video that played that was very embarrassing for me. Pray that your theater will not have this video. It was not part of the premiers and it was about 25 minutes before the move started. But was very inappropriate
Other than these very few things, this movie was great. I do believe that it would be way above a level that an 8 year old could comprehend. I highly recommend this movie for anyone that wants to improve their prayer life
