Have you ever been in that place where you are just floundering. Never really gaining speed, never really losing ground, but you know that there has to be more.
Could this be your “Wilderness”
Max Lucado gives so many reasons to move on up out of the wilderness with practical Biblical ways to get there. Lucado’s style is to take a Biblical story and give you those ways to get you into the thick of it through Bible Study but then also to get you into life learning through the same Bible Study.
Glory Days does just that. Quit floundering in a life of just existing and move into the Promised Land, Spiritually, Emotionally, Mentally and Physically. While all of this is so much, there are many practical life stories and life examples in this Bible Study.
My opinion of the study, was that I loved the topic and the way Lucado expresses himself. He is always a pleaser. The one thing I didn’t like and it’s probably just me on this, was that almost every verse he referenced, used a different version of the Bible. Now there was some reuses of some obviously, but to me this is distracting and well surprising from Lucado. However, on his website, he says the following
What version of the Bible does Max use? The Bible was originally written in ancient Hebrew and Greek, with a few sections in Aramaic. Therefore, any English Bible is a translation. In his bible study, Max uses many different versions interchangeably. He is not a Greek scholar, so he leaves the translating work to the experts, and accepts these many versions prayerfully inviting God’s direction in his study.
That being said, I get the jest of using so many versions of the Bible to study. For Reference. So for me that was the only thing I didn’t like. But still all in all, this book is right up there with all the rest of his books, and kicks it out of the park!
