Okay, I have had a LOT of meters since I being diagnosed with diabetes Type 2 in June of 2001.   I mean a LOT.  It seems like my insurance is changing their “preferred” brand every couple of months and their “preferred” provider every couple of months. Now, that being said.  I was once again, asked to change meters.  So I went ahead and got the one I wanted instead.Let me just say, I LOVE this meter.  It is incredible!!  First, it is just so easy.  No controls, nothing hard, just really simple.  put a strip in, lance the finger, and suck the blood up!  How much easier does it get as far as meters go.Untitled

But the most incredible part.  NO MORE LOGS!!!!  It automatically syncs with my iPhone. Also, you can set up alarms automatically based on how many times that you test, and your phone gives you a notification.  NO REASON not to test, or to forget to test, or whatever.  Testing regularly means your diabetes will be better controlled.

Now, as far as I know it is only on the IOS Platform at this time.  The app is free and you can download it free from the App Store here:

One Touch Reveal Mobile App

OneTouch Reveal On the App Store

and believe it or not, the meter is “preferred” on my insurance.  However, I opted to buy it so I could get it when I wanted it.

Out of the box, you have a meter, a lancer, a USB cord and a charging block for AC charging.

Easy Peasy.  The set up was also easy.  It syncs over  Bluetooth with my phone, and then it sets the date and time according to your wireless connection.  You do NOT have to be connected by wi-fi, but you do have to be connected by Bluetooth.

These are all the things you can do through the app.

The OneTouch® Verio®Sync Meter wirelessly sends blood sugar results to the OneTouch® Reveal™ mobile app. Once a blood sugar result is sent to the app you can:

Tag the blood sugar result with a meal flag.
Receive High and Low Pattern messages.
Add carbs, activity, medication data and notes about your activities.
Manually enter other blood sugar test results.
Review results on graphs.
Share your blood sugar results with others.
Set reminders to prompt you to test, snack, exercise, order testing supplies, etc.

It also has a light that you can turn on and off while you are testing, so no more bright lights in the middle of the night when you are sinking or you can just have an extra little gadget on it!

This is my actual meter. It is charging at this point, but I will show you a stock picture of the screen

You can get a copy of the quick start guide here.

Below is the meter in action.  Check out this video:

I paid $29.99 from the One Touch Website and received it within a couple of days. I received 30% off and free shipping and that is a deal that is still going on now.  It took me longer to get the strips and lancets because of doctors and insurance and a new company and everyone wanting to be in control, however I was ready.  I firmly believe that I am the only person that can totally control my healthcare besides God.  I MUST be 100% in control of it, because no one else is looking out for my best interest, but that is a whole different blog series!!!  and I digress.
Now the strips are only for use by any of the Verio machines, they are not interchangeable with any other OneTouch machine.  The Lancer, which is called a One Touch Delica.  I made a choice to continue using it, however, any Lancer will do.  It doesn’t even need to be a One Touch Brand.  Just  know if you use the Delica though, it has different kind of lancet (see all the pictures of everything at the bottom of this post)

I am extremely happy with this machine and the user interface that comes from my iPhone 5.  (other platforms of iPhone are compatible, like the 4, 4S and 5C and 5S, iPad or iPod Touch running IOS 5.1 or later)

I don’t think I have ever been this excited about using a meter.

Here is all the technical stuff that goes with the meter and instead of reinventing the wheel, I did copy this right off of the OneTouch Website so that I knew it would be exact based on their findings.  You cn find that information here

All pictures and products are the property of OneTouch.  I have linked back to their website.  You can also find all information here. and

When We Must Submit To Authority

I went ahead and put it here too.   I have a whole different class of people that read here than those that are on my FB. that’s not an insult, it’s the types of person they are, not how much money they have or the job they have etc, etc…. maybe class was the wrong word.. maybe type should be the right word…

not sure if this should have been a blog post or not, but here goes either way/facebook/blog, the story is still the same~
ya know, I’ve listened all day on facebook complaining, or rejoicing, whichever side they are on that’s the side they’ve touted to on the SCOTUS decision about OBAMACARE
Frankly, I’m a little put out at all of em.
Especially those that say they are Christian…
Does God not tell us to obey the laws of the land?
Romans 13:1 – 7
Submission to the Authorities

1 Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. 2 Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment.

Yes, I know we have a democracy and we have the right to vote in and out of office who we deem worthy of being in there, but people, WE VOTED THIS MAN and this congress and this house in. So ultimately THIS SCOTUS.. It falls back on US!
WE made these decisions.
WE as a people wanted the grass greener… well we got it… Now what are we going to do with it.

We as a nation have to follow these laws especially if you are Christian, God TELLS us we have to.

The point I’m getting to is, sitting behind a faceless, nameless computer screen can bused for bad (backbiting and grpuching atyour “friends”) or you can use it to stress to
everyone to get out and VOTE!!!

EVERYONE Needs to vote that is legal to… We need to ROCK this vote!!! WE need to set Washington on it’s ear in November, as well as our local governments and state governments

Don’t sit here and argue which side is better, frankly, Obama’s side does have some good points to it… I’m a republican, and don’t agree with Obama on his healthcare plan as a whole, but you know what, there is something there now, so we have it, lets use it till we get something better… maybe that’s a plan… Nobody else got off their butts and did anything till he did something. HE put something in place… How are we going to pay for it??? I don’t know… I have no clue… But I would be willing to be the talking heads in WA will figure it out really quick now that they have to…

again the point being, that lets ROCK NOVEMBER AND GET THE BAD OUT AND GET THE GOOD IN!!!

Psalm 35:18

my heart is very sad tonight… so many hurting people… So many that are sick and need of healing… so many

that are going through things that can be so hard on you emotionally and break the heart… So many that are

going through so much financial stress.

I pray Dear Heavenly Father that if it’s your will, you take my friends and family that are hurting, hide them

safe in your arms, protect them, heal them, and let them know that they are loved.

We thank you so much for all of your blessings that you have poured into us… We know that none of us are

worth of your Grace…

By your grace, we are set free… Thank you again for giving your Son for my life.

Our hurt hear on earth can never compare to the hurt felt on that cross.

Thank you, just thank you!

New Year’s Resolutions – Happy New Year!!!

I just wanted to say Happy New year to everyone…

I don’t believe in New Year’s Resolutions.. Mainly because I never keep them.. LOL

I don’t think I have EVER kept a one.

However, I have made a promise to God.  So I know He will hold me to it!  I’ve prayed about this for a while now.  I feel really confident that through His guidance and help, I can do this!  I am ready!  My reasons are different though and my spirit is totally different.  I want to grow my heart as close as I can to God through His word.  I feel like that there is an intimate story He has to tell me, that I’ve missed all this time, every time I’ve read the Bible.  My goal, through solemn prayer and again His guidance is to “get it”

I am reading the Bible through this year.  However I haven’t decided whether I’m going to use a reading plan, or go cover to cover.

I know that reading it cover to cover, probably isn’t the best way to read the Bible, however it’s a book, and that’s how you read books.

I’ve always told people who are seeking that aren’t quite ready to commit to reading the Bible or even to Christianity, that if they aren’t ready to jump into John or James or Proverbs, or Psalm then read cover to cover.  Like a book.  Not only does it tell us the greatest story ever told, but it’s HISTORY!

There are so many reading plans out there, and One Year Bibles and One Year Bible Studies, I am so lost in what to do.  So if anyone has found something really, REALLY good,, PLEASE let me know!

But for now, I’m starting cover to cover.

So if you want a resolution, or just something FUN to do this year… READ with me!   I will put up here what I’m reading for the month….

In January, I’m going to read the following:

    January 1:Genesis 1-3
    January 2: Genesis 4-7
    January 3: Genesis 8-11
    January 4: Genesis 12-15
    January 5: Genesis 16-18
    January 6: Genesis 19-21
    January 7: Genesis 22-24
    January 8: Genesis 25-26
    January 9: Genesis 27-29
    January 10: Genesis 30-31
    January 11: Genesis 32-34
    January 12: Genesis 35-37
    January 13: Genesis 38-40
    January 14: Genesis 41-42
    January 15: Genesis 43-45
    January 16: Genesis 46-47
    January 17: Genesis 48-50
    January 18: Exodus 1-3
    January 19: Exodus 4-6
    January 20: Exodus 7-9
    January 21: Exodus 10-12
    January 22: Exodus 13-15
    January 23: Exodus 16-18
    January 24: Exodus 19-21
    January 25: Exodus 22-24
    January 26: Exodus 25-27
    January 27: Exodus 28-29
    January 28: Exodus 30-32
    January 29: Exodus 33-35
    January 30: Exodus 36-38
    January 31: Exodus 39-40

Genesis one, one tomorrow!  In the Beginning… I can’t wait to see what God has to share with me!  Come along on this journey!  I know if you were to talk to me about it sometime, I don’t think that you would be disappointed!!!

Ah! Peace at Last

This is the night I’ve been waiting for! David’s flight is in TX just at Dallas on his way home soon with his brothers, the kids are tucked happily into bed, after decorating the tree.
This week has been full of emotions. The enemy has worked so hard to break me down and at times has succeeded.
I am so blessed to have a Savior that loves me in spite of myself. My forgiveness is written in His heart.
I pray that God will take away my hardness towards this season and that I can be softened to the love and greatness that He showed us that day, that he was born and that day when He died on the cross for me.
I thank God EVERY DAY for that SALVATION AND I pray that you can seek it out also if you don’t already have it. Peace at Last!!

Insurance fixed!!

All of my insurance, at this point and time is FIXED!!

I received my first EOB and my cost was zero.

Maybe, just maybe, I made a very good choice for a change. We shall see. In due time!

Patience has it’s moments 🙂
