When I signed up to review Bronner, I thought to myself, will I be able to get through this book?
As the sibling of a brother and sister that have passed away, this was very near and dear to my heart.
The book Bronner was so easy to handle for me and I was so amazed at Sherri and Rick’s faith and level of faith, it so reminded me of my mother. Not once did her faith ever waiver. NEVER. At any given time you could hear her singing worship songs to our Savior, Find her reading her Bible, or just in deep thoughts and prayers to God. Although, I don’t know exactly her thoughts, she never once showed us a bad side of the deaths of two children.
That kind of faith is the same faith I see in Sherri and Rick Burgess. Having a beautiful life up until the day Bronner drowned, the shock and emotions would be enough to hurt the strongest person. now I’m not saying that every day was ideal with the Burgess’ nor with my mom. There were days I’m sure my mom wanted to throw the towel in, and cry all day. However, those days didn’t stay. Just like with the Burgess family, my parents used my sibling’s passing to better their world as did the Burgess family and to help people understand that God needed my siblings as well as Bronner more.
I mean our children aren’t ours to begin with. God gives them to us on loan, to take care of for Him. When He determines that He needs them more – then His will must be done.
Sherri, started speaking to groups about the way God uses pain and suffering to help people. Sometimes you may never know why He did something He did, however, trusting Him, will assure that He is with you and me always, through our agony.
Bronner was not Sherri’s way of just retelling the painful story of the death of her child, it is the Journey one can take when you understand the why behind God’s actions.
Even though our faith should be that we never question, I know for me, there would be no way, I could lose a child and never question why?
Sherri’s story about this journey has been used so many ways to help so many people. Through just the sheer volume of people who hear her speak and let her know they know what she went through, or they lost a child also, or just that they are praying for her as she speaks truth about God’s love for us.

I highly recommend this book, not just for someone who has lost a child, but to anyone who wants to understand that Jesus Christ is ours, all we must do is ask. Then He can lead us through our lives, with no matter what troubles we face.
